Would My Abs Show More After a Tummy Tuck?
I’ve lost a lot of weight, unfortunately my stomach is kinda flabby. It’s not too bad but its noticeable when I bend down, and it’s just generally doughy. I’ve been lifting weights for almost a year and a half, when I flex my abs they feel quite hard, unfortunately my abs don’t show that much because of the extra skin. Would they show more after a tummy tuck? I’m not expecting to have a six pack or anything.
As long as there isn’t fat covering them, they should show if the muscles are defined underneath the skin…make sure what you’ve got is just loose skin and not skin and fat…I’ve got loose skin also (used to be obese) so mine will never show as I’d like them to, but a tummy tuck is down on my list (after a boob job and a thigh tuck…LOL!)
make sure you are doing
cardio
diet
weights
and also remember these things take time
Hi there.
The abdominal muscles (more specifically, the rectus abdominis) are tighetened and contoured during the full abdominoplasty procedure. All the redundancies and looseness are dealt with through a special tightening stitch. To enhance the flank contour and get a better figure, the external obliques are also dealt with.
In case done properly, the tummy tuck procedure very very satisfying like on my wife who looks like a starlet!
I recommend Dr Bhatti in India.
I feel your pain….after a vey LARGE pregnancy at the age of 22, (I’m now 29) I had a TON of extra skin and stretch marks. I was working out 6 days a week eating like a champ and was in great shape, yet I was still very self concious about my stomach, I JUST got a full tummy tuck almost 2 months ago now….not only do they stitch all of your abdominal muscles, on mine they also did a full trunk lipo (it’s kinda added into the tummy tuck) where they suck out all extra fat AND comepletely remove ALL of your loose skin on your belly. For the first time in, well….forever i am confident to wear any shirt and a bikini!
That’s my story….but my advice is to get a consult from a plastic surgeon….you may ONLY need lipo or a mini tummy tuck. Good luck!!!
After you fully recover from your tummy tuck then your abs could show more. But keep in mind that tummy tuck is an invasive surgery and can take a very long time to recover from. And some patients even experience swelling up to a year after their surgery. But generally, a swollen hard abdomen is better looking than a flabby fat one. A tummy tuck with muscle repair would address the stretched abdominal muscles that you could possibly have and your Plastic surgeon would repair these by tightening then……so you’d no longer be saggy.
