I just had my full tummy tuck along with lipo on my hips (sculpting) on June 20, 2008. I had an overnight stay at the surgie-clinic (the surgeon has his own operating facility) and I have to say that it all went very very well. I had my own personal nurse who stayed with me the entire night. I was very alert, I was able to walk to the bathroom with assistance. I had two drains that were coming out of my lower abdomen/pubic area. They came home with me and the nurse showed me how to drain them. They resembled compressed see through plastic eggs. I also had a compression garment that I wore in the clinic and at home. The pain was very very tolerable and it felt as if I had done entirely too many sit-ups. My surgery took place on a Friday. I was home by Saturday morning and the worst part of the experience to date was the drains cause you cant wear anything cause they are ALWAYS in the way. The drains came out 5 days later (quite painful but it was quick and then relief!!). I was able to drive right after they removed the drains (I do not take the pain meds during the day, only when Its time to sleep). I am now 10 days post-op and am wearing a very high-waisted girdle instead of the Velcro band you go home with. Today I was able to wear something other than leggings and sweat pants. There is still quite a bit of swelling but I can see my tummy is beautifully flat, my hips are AMAZING and I am sure as the swelling subsides I will look better and better. I have found myself frustrated with the fact that I do get tired very easily but that is NORMAL. My stitches come out July 8th. I cant tell if the scar is bad but it certainly is long but almost invisible. It’s right on my pantie line. Oh. You also get a NEW belly button. Mine looks great!
